'Goodbye Smile', as you might guess, explores the pain of a breakup. It's incredibly distressing to have an important relationship just disintigrate without notice. Sometimes we just flat out deny it's happening.
For many people, songs and poetry/books are the only thing that can comfort them in the wake of losing someone they love.
