Sometimes, memories hold us back. Sometimes, they act as a reminder of what’s important when we need it most.
We're working on an exciting new project with Fable Gazers podcast company, This Art May Save You, exploring the connection between art and life – how does art (in this case music) resonate most deeply with an audience? And you're in on this conversation - as well as talking to different artists about their work and why they’re compelled to create it, we’ll also be asking you, the listener, to consider developing your own creative instinct to live more widely.
In celebration of this theme, and in collaboration with @scarlet_starlings, we’ve written songs to reach people through different themes. ‘Mouths are Moths’ is about past love – the sort that haunts you forever, even in your dreams.
lyrics
Mouths are moths
I can’t see the endless irony
Spiky hearts are littered on the floor
Hey
Hey
Walk on eggshells to keep your soul intact
Just add water to make the feelings real
Hey
Hey
Forgive the ghost of me that one no one ever sees
Your life was full of the ghosts of loves unknown
Hey
Hey
Turn the light off
Put your shoes and socks beside the bed
Be the big spoon
In my sleep I’ll feel you there
Take your clothes off
The best thing to hold is each other
Fingers twisting, mouths are moths,
Leave the dust of your wings on my face
